It's official, stock head gaskets and stretch bolts don't like 20psi of boost. That leaves me 5 days of fixing, fettling and show prep before mitp. It's going to be tight but I'm not overly concerned

But did you not originally think you had a bit of spare time planned before Durham mini show ? #justsaying

True but all the delays were really due to waiting for parts, bad weather and faff. This should be a relatively simple job... honest

All I can see is spotlights lol

On closer inspection, I think he’s running an updated alternator to power them [emoji23]

I didn't realise how long it was since I've updated this thread (shame on me). There's been much fettling, refinement and general faff gone on, but in short the car is still alive. The only failure I've had so far is a sad leak. Boost wise I run 25psi now and there's a new fuel system in there to keep up with demand. The old meth system has been hooked up and I'm in the process of mapping to suit. Next job is to shorten the battery box as I've got a new R56 style exhaust and a titanium intake being made for me next week [emoji16]d78464a6deb8f6de370210ae1e6bcfa6.jpg201803 ... 6bcfa6.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180312/d78464a6deb8f6de370210ae1e6bcfa6.jpg' alt='URL>'>c2cfee63ba43266dc314934f9be27d3f.jpg201803 ... e27d3f.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180312/c2cfee63ba43266dc314934f9be27d3f.jpg' alt='URL>'>2df31969ef8c091f9ad2c4c6c19a768d.jpg201803 ... 9a768d.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180312/2df31969ef8c091f9ad2c4c6c19a768d.jpg' alt='URL>'>

I bet you’ve upset one or two people on the 1231.

How is it handling in these recent conditions ?

Honestly, it's awful. Too much torque and no power steering aren't much fun

Nah, it's fine with the stock limited slip diff. I think I'm going to have to look at refitting the power steering pump. Speaking of pumps, I may also end up having to fit a secondary fuel pump. We'll see how my latest mod works out first though

I have a spare hose pipe if it’s needing that much fuel [emoji23][emoji1303]

Battery has had to be relocated to accommodate my new exhaust (which is going in on Tuesday)6034c9a5288e2e33677f698f398a17d4.jpg201803 ... 8a17d4.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180318/6034c9a5288e2e33677f698f398a17d4.jpg' alt='URL>'>0222ffe24fc6ba2d1c60e53a040d10e8.jpg201803 ... 0d10e8.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180318/0222ffe24fc6ba2d1c60e53a040d10e8.jpg' alt='URL>'>0ad5ac1635c39532860775391cc95d1d.jpg201803 ... c95d1d.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180318/0ad5ac1635c39532860775391cc95d1d.jpg' alt='URL>'>

I've been having what I thought were fuel pressure issues. Turns out it was nothing more than crappy sensors (2 of them!). At least now I can crack on with the internal tank modifications, the cam install and some more aggressive tuning. New sensor on order but in the meantime an analogue gauge will be used to keep an eye on things [emoji3]d3c6643bb81067da6ab6d0d078c633dd.jpg201804 ... c633dd.jpg"><a href=https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180427/d3c6643bb81067da6ab6d0d078c633dd.jpg' alt='URL>'>
