Few extra bits done over the last few weeks. Started on the dechroming :) yesterday I got rid of the tar spots that were all over, especially on the aero skirts, damn stuff. I also want to black out the headlights but the bolt that holds in the headlight on the lower out corners (on both headlights) just spins around, arghhhh! Lol. So need to figure out how they're gonna come out now. Still, it's coming on nicely ;)

What route did you take on dechromeing the head/tail light surround? Painted? Wrapped?

After wrapping before, and loosing my finger prints for months lol, I decided this time I'd get a better finish by spraying them. I've fully prepped them, plastic primer, then loads of gradual coats, no rushing here ;)

Got some new foglights today, but rain stopped fitting them. Not bad for 20 quid, genuine MINI too.

Had it in at work to get a health check, and fix the valve in the osr wheel, loosing air over time. Job done.

Bit of a play this morning. Took the bumper off to fit the new fog lamps with the new LED sidelight and fog bulbs. Note for the fog bulbs to work you need cancellors/resistor harnesses. Not as hard as I thought it would be, but the old fogs were shot! It also have me chance to see why the headlight washers never worked, seems someone unplugged the washer jet motor for the headlights, straight forward fix :)

Here's some during and after pics, well chuffed now :)

Bit of a deep clean. Removed all the wheels and cleaned out the carpet arches, clean up all the alloy parts, washed down the suspension and cleaned up any painted areas. Washed all the boot out and under the back seat, last owner must have used it as a dumping ground. Crap everywhere, but not anymore.

Then got to work on the body, double snow foam (thanks Andy for the tip) then zymol wash all over. Tried to remove as much carbon off the JCW tips as I could, but they are a million times better than what they were. Blacked out the tyres and plastics all ready for tomorrow.

Phew....

I've got like a really rough style brill pad disc that attaches to my drill. I've chipped most of the thicker carbon away, then luckily the disc is the same bore size as the zorst. Then some cutting compound on the disc and tah dah! Needs some more work but it's come on loads
