Short story first, I had a 2006 R50 previously and owned for 5 years, loved it and wanted to keep it a bit longer. The first thing to sort was the wheels and the chrome. So, off to find some wheels, I found these:

photo1-5.jpgcc88 ... oto1-5.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo1-5.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Then the chrome had to go! So i started to wrap the chrome in vinyl just in case i wanted the chrome back at some point...

I also wrapped the rear light rings while i was at it.

After these little "mods" I didn't like the standard callipers and loved the look of the JCW Big brake kit so saved a few pennies up. Found a nice offer on the bay for a full kit for just over 500 notes so had to take it.

Not long after this, I couldn't stand the hight of the car. It looked way too high and something had to be done. It was either kill it with fire or some coil overs to get the hight I wanted.

Luckily Meister had a nice offer available and within a few weeks these came through the door.

Got them fitted by Karl and Scott at Coastal, along with stealth De-cat and poly bushed wishbones while i was there.

Made a massive difference to the ride and looks way better!

Forge Strut brace also then fitted to help with rigidity,

Since the de-cat had been fitted, I also fitted an ITG foam filter, the alta stiffy spring and the forge BOV, I then thought it was about time to get it on the rolling road to see how many ponies was in this chariot.

tbh, I was fairly impressed with the result, esp when it was nearly 30 degrees and i was running on 95 Ron at the time.

Obviously, what came next was the urge for more power, so another delivery it was (Evolve V2 FMIC)

photo1-11.jpgcc88 ... to1-11.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo1-11.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Fitting, see the difference between standard:

photo2-9.jpgcc88 ... oto2-9.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo2-9.jpg' alt='URL>'>

photo3-7.jpgcc88 ... oto3-7.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo3-7.jpg' alt='URL>'>

What a difference this thing makes on the car. Normally when the car has been driven hard and gets a bit hot it would really struggle on power when it got too hot. With this fitted I've never had that issue since.

I then decided to tint the rear windows.

Before:

photo1-9.jpgcc88 ... oto1-9.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo1-9.jpg' alt='URL>'>

photo-6.jpgcc88 ... hoto-6.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo-6.jpg' alt='URL>'>

After:

photo4-3.jpgcc88 ... oto4-3.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo4-3.jpg' alt='URL>'>

photo2-7.jpgcc88 ... oto2-7.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/photo2-7.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Added a red belt line and scoop,

Untitled-8.jpgcc88 ... tled-8.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/Untitled-8.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Untitled-7.jpgcc88 ... tled-7.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/Untitled-7.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Untitled-6.jpgcc88 ... tled-6.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/Untitled-6.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Untitled-5.jpgcc88 ... tled-5.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/Untitled-5.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Untitled-4.jpgcc88 ... tled-4.jpg"><a href=http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc88/andrewranyard/Untitled-4.jpg' alt='URL>'>

Last but not least. With all the issues of the engine choking up, I've put on the PCV blanking caps and fitted an Oil catch can.

Newbie question but what kind of exhaust is that? I only wonder as I'm guessing you got it dirt cheap so wondered what it is that would make people jealous.

The car is looking great. Am jealous of the belt line and what you have done to the light surrounds. Were they easy to wrap? as I want to get rid of the chrome on my car.

R56 fJCW exhaust.

Yeah it was too bad to wrap the surrounds. Just take your time and its ok.

Like the car, but not the wheels.

Something less shiny and would suit IMO. Great figures and very jealous of those brakes!

Cleaned up really well. Apparently its only 6months old. I can only assume it was too loud for the owner which is why they have sold it. Cant wait to get it on. Should sound awesome!

Thanks Jack, the wheels are like marmite. Some people like them some dont. :blum3:

I used vinyl james. I got the red from a-z stickers on westgate road. The black i done myself as i have gloss black vinyl in the house.

You have to take your time with it and make sure the belt line is clean.

Can wait to get the exhaust on. And your not getting my headlights aero

Ahh OK, well if you fancy doing mine then it goes without saying that I'd be obliging with some ££ for your time!!

Would you consider tinting my windows too? Again, I will obviously pay you some ££ for the job!

Cheeky I know, but both jobs look like a really good outcome :)

yeah i would consider it :)

Belt line is fairly straight forward to do and shouldnt take more than 30mins in all honesty.

for the windows thats a bit more tricky. Do you have a garage? or an enclosed space out of the wind? Its easier in a garage as you have to use a heat gun to form the film to the window on the outside first with a heat gun and need to keep it warm.
