  1. So, picked up my new MINI today. It's been a long long time coming that's for sure, and I couldn't be happier. It's a MINI Cooper S in Dark Silver with matching roof and "ears" lol. It has the dealer fitted JCW pack, number 364 which includes the induction kit, JCW exhaust and the remap. It's mechanically sound, pulls like a train, mmmmmmm Interior wise it's full leather, aircon and heated seats for next years winter months lol. I've already upgraded the interior lighting, but dash light wise that will follow in time, when I have time haha. Body wise it's not perfect, which doesn't bother me to badly. But it's a MINI I will be keeping for many many years to come, but I will get it to my usual standards. A bonus for me is the aerokit, but I'm sure one morning I'm gonna wake up with Donna detaching it to fit on her own lol. I've got it home, gave it a good wash and clean behind the ears. A good once over and I'm over the moon. I think me rambling on here shows that...sorry lol So yep, This shall be the start of my build thread, with plenty more to come Simon

  3. The New MINI Electric Launching March 2020 Its been a long time coming, the New MINI Electric is almost amongst us. Battery technology has come on so far, and will more than likely become the norm, but for now those with range anxiety need not worry to much with a range up to 145 miles. Government grants also help towards the cost with approx £3500 been thrown in for good measure. The new MINI Electric comes in three styles. Level One. Simple and iconic. Level Two. Extra tech and more comfort. Level Three. Higher Spec and more customisation. Common questions regarding the new MINI Electric: Is it only available as a 3 door? Yes, three door only at this stage. What is the warranty on the battery? The Warranty on the battery is 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever is reached first. The battery is also included in the price of the car. Are there single options available for select? The new MINI Electric is the first model in the MINI range with no single options available for simplicity and ease of ordering. However, you are still able to personalise your MINI Electric through a selection of paint and wheel options. How much does it cost to charge the New MINI Electric ? Based on £0.163 per kWh on average it costs £5.31 for a full charge. 1 mile costs only 4p. How can I find public charging stations ? This can be activated in your car or via the MINI Connected app) – Two levels of power regeneration (including max regeneration and minimal regeneration – the energy recovery toggle allows you to alter the severity of automatic braking when releasing the throttle by changing the amount of energy being regenerated when coasting) Technical Data PERFORMANCE. – Max. output: 184 hp – Max. torque: 270 Nm – 0–37 mph: 3.9 seconds – 0–62 mph: 7.3 seconds BATTERY. – Battery type: Lithium-Ion – Gross battery content : 32.6 kWh – Battery capacity : 93.2 Ah RANGE AND CONSUMPTION. – Electric Range: 140 – 145 miles† – Electric energy consumption (weighted): 3.9 – 4.1 miles/kWh (15.9 – 15.2 kWh/100 km) – CO2 emissions: 0 g/km S Obviously these facts and figures are open to variations depending on how the vehicles are used and in various climates. You should consult with the MINI dealer for exact information and specialist advice in all cases. The above is information collated over various MINI documents that MINI has every right to change at no notice. Going from the subject title, is it any good ? Time will tell. Im hoping to get a drive in one once released, and i will give a full and detailed run down then. GP4 Electric anyone ? 9. ...and It ought to look pretty close to the concept. The BMW Group has confirmed that plans are running on schedule to roll out an all-electric Mini next year, and released a couple of teaser images to give us an idea of what to expect – even if it's only a rough idea. First announced last year as part of the group's electrification strategy, the fully electric Mini is set to be based on the two/three-door hatchback. But instead of an internal combustion engine, of course, it will feature a completely electric powertrain, with some unique design elements to visually set it apart. The plans were confirmed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this past weekend, where the automaker showcased the Mini Electric Concept that it first revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Once in production at the brand's historic home in Oxford, it will be the brand's first completely electric model since the Mini E that was released as part of a pilot program a decade ago. The electric powertrain components will be manufactured by BMW in Germany, where it also makes the i3 and i8. Mini also offers a plug-in hybrid version of the Countryman, and presented an electric-converted classic Cooper at the New York show earlier this year “Mini is an urban brand and the fully-electric Mini is the logical next step into the future,” said the brand's design chief Oliver Heilmer. “These initial sketches for the fully electrified Mini outline our vision of authentic design creating a bridge between the history of the brand and its electric future.” Unfortunately all that these two teaser images show are the blanked-out grille and the assymetrical wheels, both dominated by a suitably electric shade of yellow. But the rest of the design we can more or less surmise from the existing Mini hatchback and the electric concept we've already seen.
