  4. Also had the old girl machine polished. I’m really pleased with the results. I now know how to wash a car properly, have proper kit and am nowhere near a clay bar 👊 so hopefully she should stay nice.

  10. In doing the centre arm rest I had to decide if I was going for the single seam down the centre or off to one side (kinda like viper stripes) or a seam down either side or have a seam down either edge ? I thought the centre seam would look more OEM but had more of a chance to irritate the elbow and an ofset seam just wouldn’t look right. A seam on either side would be the best result although much harder to stitch and keep everything looking right and also harder to stick on straight. I’ll let you know how that goes tomorrow 👍🏻

  11. Hi all, I've been into classic Mini's for over 20 years and a few years ago between classic's I bought an R56 and fell in love with her until I blew the engine! Last year a cheap Y reg came up for sale near me and it was time to re-kindle the love for these cars. So we now own Thelma (classic) and Louise!

  12. Thanks Mr Watton and Kettlepot! I'm from the Netherlands;) I recently bought my 2nd MINI F56, had a Cooper S before and now having a Cooper with JCW pack which I'm now trying to make into my favourite MINI build. I saw some great inspirational builds on this forum so thought why not join!:)

  13. Washed both cars today, its been a long time coming as they were both disgusting! Got the TDs back on the Roadster and they're on for good this time 😊 Also fitted an Ultragauge Mount, looks quite tidy and the position is spot on. Just screws into the back of the rev counter using the existing holes. Tomorrow is the day for the Sports Cat and Intercooler.. Also bought some coilovers today... Watch this space!

  19. It would depend on what it would be used for. GP1 if it was locked away in the garage and forgotten about, ready to sell in 10 years time. GP2 for the odd weekend blast. Can’t really comment on the GP3 as I’m yet to drive one (as is most people). Regardless of generation though, although they’re made to be drivers cars, I’d feel guilty about adding miles to it. Stick some decent coilovers on a R56 JCW and I’d imagine you’re 80% there driveability wise.

  20. VW R32 engine chucked in the boot when I dropped it off for machine work, handled like a pig and not advisable 🤣

  25. first little mod was to replace the stickers in the rear bumper for black metal grills .

  26. JCW Pro spoiler extensions - a small touch that has already been shown on Instagram. It was a bit of a toss up between getting them sprayed Pepper White or Chill Red, but the rear of the car is the only part that doesn't have any red on it so I went with the latter. Wasn't too sure at first but I'm a fan now! Parts were bought off ebay (primed) and then painted by Shaun at Mirror Finishes. Top job 😁 8 days and counting until the biggest modification yet takes place and absolutely cannot wait to show it off 🤫😋

  28. Following many discussions with @Kai2kabout how easy side skirt fins were to remove and how best to do it, I grabbed the keys and pulled the car out of the garage for a closer look. This ended in ..(photo below) I had seen it done on MINIs at shows but did not want to remove the whole skirt to do it. im not fully happy with the paint finish so will repaint them at a later date (during lockdown)

  35. Thank you @Kettlepot I've been a member of several different mini groups for a few years, and had a look on here last night and everyone seemed really helpful and friendly so thought id join I have also been following the instagram page for a while too! I've attached a few photos of my F56s which I purchased in September after trading in my R56 JCW. Since the purchase I have completed a full dechrome, roof and mirrors sprayed blue, grill bar and S badges wrapped blue, Maxton front splitter, JCW spoiler extensions + super sport tyres all round.

  36. I didn't think it had been this long since I updated this ! (its nearly MOT time again) As you will see, not a lot has changed in the last year. I have probably done less miles than last year. I have decided to give it a wash after some recent use and pop it back in the garage. Each night I am popping in the garage to wax a panel while I get some cash together for new brake discs. I am finally realising how critical it is to take the car for a quick spin following a wash to dry the discs off. Anyway, a couple photos of the clean car

  39. @Mr Watton thanks for this. I’ve actually decided, after much research to go for RBF 660. Being DOT 4 it meets the recommendation of MINI but it’s wet and dry boiling points actually exceed DOT 5.1. For what I need it seems the perfect product and comes highly regarded. The only thing not so good is the price ! I’ll report back once the brakes are done to let you know the verdict. Thanks for the advice everyone.

  44. As @Mr Watton says the Lohen packs do exactly what they say on the tin and are tried and tested. We've both pretty much got stage 2 hardware so we're planning on hopefully having a look down next year to see what power we're producing and to get the cars mapped. If you're looking for a custom setup and map then 200bhp could most likely be achieved without any real mods. But a better air filter, spark plugs and a better flowing exhaust wouldn't go a miss (and would sound so much better) I've heard good things about BTG Performance and they're probably spot on for the l
